Radio 1’s Big Weekend gains ‘CredAbility’ for Disabled Customers

Radio 1’s Big Weekend Festival has become the latest recipient of the  CredAble Provider Quality Mark- awarded to organisations that can demonstrate a commitment to quality for disabled customers.

This years festival, held at Earlham Park Norwich next weekend (23rd & 24th May) boasts a line up including household names such as Foo Fighters, George Ezra, Florence + the Machine, Taylor Swift, Context, Years & Years, Catfish and the Bottlemen.

Sally Blake, Head of the Live Nation Access Team who are working on pulling all the accessibility at the event together describes this years facilities:

“Access at Radio 1’s Big Weekend has been given some really close attention and facilities on site for this years festival include, Viewing platforms, Accessible toilets (including Changing Places), Disabled customer car parking, Wheelchair charging points, Induction loop, and perhaps most importantly friendly and dedicated staff on all disabled access facilities on the day”

It’s because of attention to this kind of detail – and developments in the booking processes, including the introduction of the Access Card to simplify the booking process for disabled people, which sees them achieving their CredAble Provider Status.
