Northern Kin Festival

Overview
Northern Kin Festival welcomes disabled festival goers and takes all reasonable measures to assist with their attendance and enjoyment of the event. At the same time, the festival takes place in the open countryside and disabled guests should be aware that the main arena, car park and surrounding areas are, naturally, fairly uneven and may be difficult to navigate. Where possible when designing the site, we do so, so it utilises level, flat routes, to make the event as accessible as possible for wheelchair usersIt is very important to the organisers, that we ensure that the event is accessible as possible, to everyone, and all aspects of accessibility are reviewed regularly, to ensure improvements can be made, where required, on an ongoing basis. This includes the availability of accessible disabled parking, wheelchair access, disabled toilets, and a wheelchair viewing platform for the main stage. We strive to do all we can to make Northern Kin as accessible as possible. As with any outdoor event, weather conditions and uneven ground in parts, on a grassed site, need to be taken into consideration, when using a wheelchair or mobility scooter, and for wet weather conditions, suitable clothing, footwear, etc, is recommended. There will also be a dedicated viewing area for wheelchair users to view the event, in both main stages, though it does have a limited capacity and will be on a first come, first served basis, exclusively for wheelchair users and one companion. To obtain access to these facilities, you will need to contact our team via the Contact page to ask for an Accessibility Questionnaire which is used to help determine exactly which areas are needed to enhance your experience. To help us process these requests smoothly, please ensure you have got in touch with us no later than 2 weeks before the event (Friday 18th July 2025). We will endeavour to process any requests received after this date leading up to the event, but we can't guarantee availability. If you are disabled and require the assistance of a carer (or in the case of a disabled customer aged under 18, an additional carer, in addition to the ticket holder aged over 18, which is required to accompany you), you may apply for a free Carers Ticket to accompany you at the festival. Please email info@northernkinfestival.co.uk or contact us via our Contact page where we will make provision for this directly.

Access guidance
- We provide a separate entrance for our guests to enter the music arena, while this does not eliminate all queuing it reduces the time substantially. We would also find a seat if required and a quiet area to wait if the queue was to be overwhelming for a guest.
- We provide a separate entrance for guest with accessible needs which is wider to enable wheelchair and motorised wheelchair access. We also provide a wheelchair viewing platform where one PA/Carer can accompany the guest.
- We have a disabled campsite which is positioned close to the arena entrance. The separate accessibility entrance and staff are happy to help if required to explain the quickest way to access an area of the festival site.
- We have quick access toilets and wheelchair accessible toilets within the accessible campsite and in the main arena. The arena toilets are monitored to ensure they are available for the guests who need them.
- Assistance dogs are welcome, and we have waterpoints available at multiple points across the arena and campsites.
- We offer free companion tickets for our guests that require extra support we do ask for evidence with the Access Card being our preferred why to explain your exact accessibility needs.
- We offer verbal support for our guests with visual needs.
- We would adjust our speaking speed for those who lip read and provide a pen and paper so our guest can write down any requests.
- We would ask if there was anything else we could help with and do our best to assist in any way we can to enable the guest to enjoy our events.
