Caledonian Sleeper
Overview
Caledonian Sleeper is an overnight rail journey between Scotland and London, operated by Caledonian Sleeper Limited on behalf of Transport Scotland. Running every night, apart from Saturday, guests are transported both north and south between London Euston and some of Scotland’s biggest cities, including Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Inverness, and more rural locations, such as Fort William. With staycations on the rise, this is the most convenient way for guests to reach their destination of choice. Accessible Rooms offer a complete Sleeper experience while giving guests peace of mind as they journey between London and Scotland. Caledonian Sleeper has worked closely experts from The Shaw Trust to ensure that the offering is maximised, not only in the accessible rooms but throughout the train. The accessible double room has direct wheelchair access to the Club Car through a wheelchair accessible gangway, and the Club Car also has dedicated wheelchair space, along with the Seated Coach.

Access guidance
- At our origin stations (London, Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Fort William and Inverness) we operate a queueing system for boarding. You may wish to remain seated at the station until the initial queue has passed.
- A ramp can be attached to our seated coach and our accessible coaches only. It is recommended to pre book this in advance via passenger assistance but is available without booking. Only our accessible rooms and seated coach can accommodate guests who are wheelchair users or use larger mobility devices. These can be booked on our website or by calling our guest service centre at 0330 060 0500.
- Our trains can be up to 16 carriages long. To take you to your carriage, a station buggy or wheelchair can be booked via passenger assistance for some stations that we serve. When onboard you will need to walk along each carriage to visit the Club car. Please contact our Guest Service Centre prior to booking so that we can let you know which rooms are closest to our club car if required. You can also order food and drinks for room service by pressing your host call button in your room or at your seat. Please note, guests travelling in our seated carriage do not have access to the club car.
- All of our Caledonian Double and Club rooms have a private ensuite. Our accessible rooms are located directly next to an accessible toilet, this is a shared toilet. Our seated coach also has an accessible toilet which is shared. Each carriage has a shared toilet. If you have urgent toilet needs, please contact our Guest Service Centre in advance to advise of this, this will ensure that we can keep you informed should there be any issues with our onboard toilet facilities.
- If you have an assistance dog, you are welcome to bring them on your journey. You do not need to pay the pet cleaning fee. Please let an onboard host know how we can make your dog comfortable, for example by providing water. If you are travelling with us in seated accommodation, please contact our Guest Service Centre in advance to reserve a seat next to you at no additional cost to enable your dog to sit safely at your feet. On the night of travel, subject to availability and at the discretion of the Train Manager, it may be possible to upgrade to a classic room free of charge when travelling with a working assistance dog.
- We are only able to offer concession rates using a disabled persons railcard.
- Our onboard hosts are happy to read out any menus or information cards for you. Please use your host call button to get their attention.
- We typically refrain from making audio announcements during your journey so that we do not disturb our guests. Each carriage is equipped with an information screen that is updated with any important information. During disruption, text messages are sent out with updates (only available to guests who have booked directly due to information limitations from third parties).
- Dietary requirements- If you have any dietary requirements or food allergies, please contact our guest service centre in advance of travel. We will be able to inform you of what options are available for your specific needs and request that there will be sufficient stock of menu items relevant to your requirements. Our menus and allergen list can be found on our website. Airborne allergies- Guests with severe airborne allergies are asked to contact us in advance of travel. We will restrict the sale of the specific food item and send out a text message to ask guests to refrain from eating this food item whilst onboard.
