Access guidance
- We have accessible entrances at the turnstiles for those with mobility issues. People who may have difficulty with standing and queuing or have additional needs can indicate this to our entry stewards who will ensure they are given priority entry.
- In the Grandstand & Paddock Enclosure, the majority of our outside areas are on tarmac/hard-standing so there is easy access to the racetrack, parade ring, public bar areas, restaurant and bookmakers. We have a raised accessible viewing platform at the finishing post in the Grandstand & Paddock Enclosure and at the Parade Ring. There is lift access to the Hospitality Boxes, Champion's Bar & Buffet (please ask a member of staff for directions) and the first floor Owner's facilities. The Winning Streak Restaurant has ramp access. In the Course Enclosure there are some tarmac areas, however the majority of the enclosure is a grassed surface so is not suitable for Wheelchair users. We have accessible toilets within all enclosures.
- The larger accessible car park for the Grandstand & Paddock Enclosure adjoins the entrance. There is a golf buggy service in this car park to assist any racegoers parked further from the entrance or who may require assistance. The golf buggy can also assist in bringing racegoers to the Winning Streak Restaurant if needed, please speak to a member of staff. The Winning Streak Restaurant is approx. 350 meters from this car park, or 50 meters from the accessible parking area in the Hospitality Car Park (please note this car park is grass). The main entrance is next to the Parade Ring. While the South (Catterick Village) End Entrance is approx 350 meters from the Parade Ring. There is lots of seating available and stools placed around the Parade Ring. The rail surround at the Parade Ring can be used as a support to lean on of required. The Course Enclosure accessible parking is approx. 30 meters from the bar area. Please note that there is no access to the Parade Ring from this enclosure.
- Should someone require the toilet urgently, if they or their companion makes the situation known to one of the Stewarding team, they will direct them to the nearest toilet and will ensure that they able to move to the front of the queue if there is one.
- We welcome registered assistance dogs and if you let us know you are coming we can make sure we have a water bowl available, however all of the bars and catering outlets will fill your bowl if you want to bring one. There are some grassed areas within the enclosures which dogs are welcome to use, and in addition there is grass in most of the car parks.
- Essential companions/carers receive free entry alongside a full-paying ticket holder. You can contact us in advance and provide us with your Access Card number when you buy your tickets in advance and we'll add a companion ticket to your booking. If you have already booked your tickets please contact by phone / email and provide us with your ticket order number and your Access Card ID and we'll add a companion ticket to your order. Alternatively on the day simply show your Access Card / Digital Access Card confirmation email at the entrance when you arrive.
- Maps of the Racecourse are located in numerous locations around the racecourse. Please contact the racecourse office if you would like a copy sent onto you in advance. Our Stewards will also support anyone having difficulty to direct them or guide them to the area they wish to access. We can provide a racecard in PDF format on request to those that use PDF text to speech applications. There are two big screens on course that show the racing action and post-race interviews etc.
- Information is relayed on the Racecourse public address system throughout the day and on the CCTV and Big Screens, much of it in text format. Racecards have printed information on all of the runners and riders and the Raceday Ready App will show non-runner details for each race.
- We have an accessibility officer (Emma Stevenson) who is the first point of call for all accessibility questions prior to your visit. Emma is most often out and about on racedays however, if you visit the Racecourse Office, or ask one of our stewards they will be able to help, or contact Emma and ascertain her location.
