Overview
The Sondheim Theatre, originally built as a pair with the Hicks Theatre, endured significant damage during World War II when it was directly hit by a German bomb in September 1940. Despite this setback, the theatre has a rich history and continues to be a prominent venue in London's West End.

Access Card notes
To help us provide the best possible service, we've partnered with Nimbus Disability and The Access Card; a universal way of communicating your access requirements as a disabled person. Nimbus Disability is a social enterprise and an organisation run by and for disabled people and is recognised as a lead authority on accessible ticketing in the UK. To book access tickets, please call our dedicated access team on 0344 482 5137. Our phonelines are open 10am-7:30pm Monday to Saturday. You will now need to provide us with your Access Card ID or Delfont Mackintosh registration number to book accessible tickets.
Access guidance
- The auditorium has wheelchair access through a specific door on Wardour Street and there will be staff available to assist and direct you. The Schönberg Loge can accommodate two wheelchairs with companions. There is also wheelchair transfer seating available in the Dress Circle. However, there are stairs to access the Dress Circle, Stalls, and Grand Circle, so be aware of the limited mobility situation.
- Unfortunately, the theater does not provide any parking facilities. However, there are disabled parking bays available nearby on Archer Street and Rupert Street for those who need them.
- The venue has an adapted toilet with a ramped corridor in the foyer, as well as toilets on all levels of the auditorium. Additionally, there is an access host available to provide assistance and guidance if needed.
