"Ngā Kete Wānanga o Ōtautahi | Christchurch City Libraries are all about connecting people, inspiring discovery and enriching communities. We provide programmes, facilities and resources, so that you can access a world of ideas and imagination. You can use our spaces to study, create, have fun or meet with other people. Fendalton Library has a large range of books, DVDs, CDs, magazines, and AV material for all ages. Find out more about te Tiriti o Waitangi and te ao Māori in Ngā Pounamu Māori and many other cultures in our wider collections. We have 11 computers that are free to use, as well as lots seating space to enjoy our Wi-Fi on your own device. There is access to a printer/photocopier and a family history computer. We also have a community space that you can book through library staff. Fendalton Library is a busy library, especially after school when things can get crowded. Saturdays are a busy time between 10am–12pm as this is when our customers can visit the free JP Clinic At the Fendalton Service Centre you are able to access the full range of council services and information. This includes paying your rates, registering your dog, making a community facilities booking, or obtaining information about your property. This site is also a NZ Post site where you are able to purchase stamps and post bags, send NZ and International parcels with courier and tracking services. The Customer Services team are available Mondays to Fridays from 9am to 5pm. Note the customer service desk is not open during weekends. "

"We can offer concession memberships to Hāpai Access Card Holders which include extended borrowing times and waiving of usual fees associated with our Audio-Visual collections: DVDs, CDS and Talking Book items and certain items for hold requests. Your support person has free access to any paid activity that you are attending. At the Fendalton Service Centre you are able to access the full range of council services and information. Access guidance
- We always have staff roving in the library and we are very happy to assist you if you need any help. We have good seating options around the library. There is a wheelchair which is available for you to borrow during your visit. We are happy to bring the wheelchair out to you if you call ahead of time. We have two trolleys available for use to put your books, DVDs etc. in while looking around the collections.
- Fendalton Library has 2 disabled carparks which are 16 meters from the main library doors. Access to the library is through automatic doors that sit at ground level. These bring you into the library foyer and through another set of automatic doors. These doors accommodate both wheelchairs and large electric mobility scooters. There is a disabled toilet to the right-hand side as you come into the library.
