Access guidance
- We do not offer fast track queues at our admissions or rides as this does not work for us operationally. We have previously trialled these systems at admissions and priority queues actually end up taking longer to process than standard queues. We also don’t have the typically long queues associated with theme park rides on our vintage fairground rides so we don’t have any fast track queuing systems in place either. However, we do understand that some visitors will have been assessed as having difficulty standing or queuing so we are more than happy for another member of the party to queue in their place.
- We've done our very best to make Folly Farm wheelchair and disabled access friendly with landscaped paths and ramps. But please note we're a rural attraction spread over 120 acres. The majority of the park is accessible via tarmac or concrete pathways. There are some gradients across the Zoo and Farm areas which may present a challenge to wheelchairs or persons with limited mobility, however we have placed benches along these routes to allow frequent breaks. Disabled visitors can also enjoy classic fairground thrills in our fairground as our Big Wheel ride and land train ride have wheelchair accessible carriages. Our staff will always try to help to provide access to our fairground rides but as these are vintage and built before modern regulations, this is not always possible. A limited number of mobility scooters are available to pre-book online for a £20 hire charge with a £30 refundable deposit. We also have a limited number of free to hire non-motorised wheelchairs which can be pre-booked online with a £10 refundable deposit.
- Blue badge parking is available close to the attraction entrance and is available on a first come, first served basis. Please display your blue badge on the dashboard and please park considerately to allow other visitors plenty of room to exit their vehicles from both sides or the rear. There is also a disabled parking bay on the other side of the road from Folly Farm close to the underpass by which you access the entrance to Folly Farm, this takes a little bit longer than parking on the attraction side of the road but may be closer than parking further away in the main car park.
- All toilet blocks have disabled toilets and there is a Changing Places toilet within the Vintage Fairground. This has a height adjustable bed and a ceiling hoist. Should you require urgent access to a toilet whilst queuing to enter the attraction please speak to a member of staff who will be able to assist you.
- Assistance dogs with up-to-date vaccinations and therapy/emotional support dogs with all the relevant paperwork and up-to-date vaccinations are permitted into the attraction. Please ensure dogs are kept on a lead at all times and please do not allow them too close to our farm and zoo animals. You will be required to fill in some paperwork at admissions if you are bringing an assistance/therapy/emotional support dog with you. Under no circumstances are dogs to be left in vehicles whilst visiting the attraction.
- Disabled guests pay standard admission but can access an Essential Companion admission upon production of a valid Nimbus account or Access Card where a '+1' has been applied. Disabled guests also pay standard ride wristband prices but can access a free Essential Companion Wristband where a '+1' is applied. When wearing an Essential Companion wristband you will only be permitted to ride when accompanying the visitor that needs an Essential Companion. Access Card Holders with a '+1', who are also Annual Pass holders, will be able to add their Access Card Membership number to the annual pass of the visitor requiring an Essential Companion to save them bringing their Access Card on future visits.
- We have a small number of ear defenders available free of charge on a first come, first served basis. They have a refundable deposit of £5. We have a limited number of pushchairs available to hire which can be pre-booked online. The hire charge is £8 for a single and £12 for a double, with a £20 refundable deposit.
