Access guidance
- Although we don't have dedicated access lanes at our public entrances, we do try and provide priority entry for our access customers if possible. We would recommend speaking to one of our stewards at the entrance points. The Sunday of the event is typically quieter than the other days.
- We have two accessible car parks at the East and West entrances. The East Car Park is across the road from the East Entrance on uneven hard standing. The walk way to the East Entrance is via a dedicated pedestrian route on flat ground. The West Car Park is across the road from the West Entrance and is on grass. You will be able to see the West Entrance from the car park. The walk way is on grass and uneven track. All our box offices have a lowered window for wheelchair users. The event takes place on a 110-acre showground. The majority of pathing is tarmac roads or boardwalks. Although, our trade stands and displays are also spread over grass areas. The Cattle Hall and Scotland's Larder have level access into the buildings. All bar and catering units that trade at the Royal Highland Show agree to value accessibility. Where possible, they will try to have step-free access, lowered counters and large print or picture menus available. And their staff will be available for any assistance.
- The accessible car parks are 230m from the closest event entrance. Lothian Buses services 97/98 drop off outside the East Entrance. The event takes place on a 110-acre showground, so give yourself plenty of time to get to your chosen area.
- There are accessible toilets in the Cattle Hall, Scotland's Larder, in all permanent toilet blocks and amongst our temporary provisions. We have three changing place facilities located in the Cattle Hall, Members Village and Avenue H.
- Assistance dogs are welcome at the event. Please be aware that some areas of the event can be densely populated by people and that animals can be unpredictable and may react to dogs in their presence.
- You can purchase a companion ticket on the Royal Highland Show website with a valid DAP or Access Card with +1 accredited.
