Access guidance
- You can indeed and we'll help you get clearance for your guide dog or assistance dog to travel with you onboard a Virgin Atlantic flight. Trained assistance dogs are welcome to travel in the cabin with you and that includes, but isn’t limited to, guide dogs, hearing dogs, psychiatric alert dogs and medical alert dogs. If your dog helps you with a medical condition or disability, they’re part of the journey too. If possible, please get in touch before you book your flight as guide dogs or assistance dogs can't be booked online, and we may need to limit the number of dogs we carry in the cabin of our aircraft.
- Depending on your level of mobility or independence, you may choose to travel with an assistant or medical escort to help you during your journey. Occasionally we ask passengers with severe medical conditions to travel with a medically qualified escort. Your assistant must travel in the same class of cabin as you and they will be seated where’s best for you, either directly in front, next to or behind you. You can discuss your requirements with our Accessible Travel Services team.
- If you're flying alone, our Accessible Travel Services team can arrange for an airport escort to help guide you through the terminal, from check in all the way to your boarding gate. They'll make sure you arrive in plenty of time to board early and settle in comfortably. Just let us know at least 48 hours before your flight so we can get everything set up for you.
