Access guidance
- We want your journey with us to be as smooth and stress-free as possible. Priority seating is available at all of our ports, making it easier to board our ferries and FastCats when you need a little extra support. Our friendly team will always be on hand to help you when getting on or off the ship. On our Portsmouth–Fishbourne route, both Victoria of Wight and St Clare have priority seating close to the café and toilets, so you won’t need to travel far to reach these facilities.
- All of our car ferries and FastCats are equipped with ramps to help you reach lifts and stairs leading to our passenger lounges with ease. Our port and ship facilities are step-free, and at Portsmouth Gunwharf Car Ferry you’ll also find a lift to the upper deck, where you can relax and enjoy our café.
- Accessible toilets are available at all of our ports and onboard all ships and FastCats. On our Lymington–Yarmouth service, the Wight Class ships also have an ambulant toilet available. For those who need them, Changing Places facilities can be found at Portsmouth Gunwharf Car Ferry and Ryde Pier Head.
- We’re proud to welcome assistance dogs in all areas of our ports and ships.
- If you need personal care during your journey, we kindly ask that you travel with a companion who can provide this assistance. If you’re travelling on foot and need a companion to help with using the toilet, breathing equipment, feeding, or if you are blind or visually impaired, they can travel with you free of charge.
- Each of our ports has a handy ‘Hello to Everyone’ QR code near the entrance doors. Simply scan the code or visit our website to find easy-to-follow guides showing how to get around each port. Large print timetables are also available online, so you can plan your journey with confidence.
- For customers who are deaf or hard of hearing, hearing loops are installed at our port Customer Service Points and in our onboard cafés.
- We want every part of your journey to feel easy and stress-free. If you need a little extra support, here’s how we can help: • Extra space for your car – You can book a wider and/or longer parking space onboard our ferries, giving you more room to get in and out of your vehicle comfortably. These spaces are located close to the lift for easier access to the passenger lounges. • Wheelchair support – If you need one, we can provide the loan of a wheelchair while you’re travelling with us. • Quiet and calm spaces – Onboard St Clare and at Portsmouth Gunwharf Car Ferry Port you’ll find a Quiet Room, perfect if you’d like a peaceful place during your journey. St Clare also has a Calm Room designed especially with our neurodivergent customers in mind. • Friendly assistance – Our team is always happy to help with boarding, disembarking, and making sure your journey suits your needs. Whether you have a disability, reduced mobility, a medical condition, or simply want a little extra help, you can rely on us to make your crossing safe, comfortable, and accessible.
