With over 2,000 animals and countless amazing plants across 80 acres of beautiful, spacious grounds, you're in for a fantastic day out at Paignton Zoo! Located in Devon, Paignton Zoo is one of the South West's most exciting visitor attractions. It's a place to roam, discover, explore and get in touch with nature. We're a registered charity and support a number of projects in the UK and overseas that aim to help halt species decline. Come rain or shine, Paignton Zoo is a great place to visit for all the family, and you'll need a full day to see it all!

Access guidance
- The Zoo is based in an 80 acre natural environmental park and is considered reasonably wheelchair and pushchair friendly. Gradients are less than one in twelve however some appear fairly steep, therefore not all paths are easy to manage independently in a manual wheelchair. Wheelchair access is available to the Island Restaurant, shop and all exhibits. Path surfaces are either tarmac or crushed and rolled stone and there is plenty of seating around the site.
- We have 29 parking spaces within the free car park dedicated to visitors with a disabled parking permit. 21 of these are on the first level with a gentle slope to the Visitor Entrance and 8 on the second level with a one in twelve gradient zig-zag path to the entrance. Those who prefer may use the drop-off and pick-up point at the main entrance.
- There are accessible toilets on site. These are located in the main entrance, Island Restaurant, next to Jungle Fun indoor play area and by Hangout play area.
- At Paignton Zoo we welcome assistance dogs and want to make your visit to us as enjoyable as possible. We have put together the following information to ensure the safety of yourself, your dog, our animals and members of the public during your visit. - For visitor with disabilities, we admit one accompanying carer free of charge when the pay full adult/child price. Please note: a carer must be aged 12 years and over and capable of assisting the visitor who has the disability for the duration of their visit.
