Another 30 days of great progress for the Access Card

The end of lockdown is well and truly in sight and it is safe to say that everyone at the Access Card Team is very much looking forward to being able to enjoy those long-awaited trips & adventures once again!

Over the last 30 days, the Access Card Team has not only seen a great influx in the number of new venues & attractions wishing to sign up to the scheme, but we have also received some really lovely feedback from our current Access Card Holders, which we’d like to share with you.

5th April – Lancaster festival expands its Access Scheme

Introducing our latest Access Card Provider: The Big Family Day Out

Access Cards with ‘+1’ symbol accepted as proof for a free essential companion ticket.

7th April – World Health Day

World Health Day 2021; a day in which people highlight the inequalities that still exist within different healthcare systems worldwide. It is a day for further campaigning to ensure that “everyone has living and working conditions that are conductive to good health.” (World Health Organisation).

11th April – World Parkinson’s Day

World Parkinson’s Day 2021 is a day in which people will come together to discuss both the progress & developments made in Parkinson’s research. It will also be an opportunity for people to share their experiences of living with the condition, whilst offering support to others.

The Access Card has a variety of symbols to help people with Parkinson’s communicate their access requirements in a more discreet way.

12th April – Highest Point Festival grows even higher

Please welcome our latest Access Card Provider: Highest Point Festival.

Access Cards with ‘+1’ symbol accepted as proof for a free essential companion ticket.

Highest Point is a music and arts festival taking place every May in the beautiful Williamson Park in Lancaster.

14th April – FREE Access Cards for disabled children in Croydon

Do you have a disabled child in Croydon?

You qualify for a completely free Access Card (usually £15 for 3 years) when you join the Croydon Council’s Disabled Children’s Register.

19th April – MS Awareness Week (19th-25th April)

MS Awareness Week 2021: a week solely dedicated to raising as much awareness about Multiple Sclerosis. During this year’s campaign, people living with the condition are encouraged to talk about their experiences of living with the condition, particularly over the last 12 months during the Covid-19 pandemic to stress the importance of MS services.

24th April – World Meningitis Day

World Meningitis Day 2021 is a day in which people come together to raise awareness about Meningitis, whilst also informing people of the signs & symptoms of the condition.

The Access Card has a variety of symbols to help people with Meningitis communicate their access requirements in a more discreet way.

26th April – Lowther Pavilion Lytham becomes Access Card Provider

The Lancashire theatre will join over 1000 venues & attractions listed in the Access Card’s directory.

The Access Card is now accepted as proof of access requirements at the theatre and Access Card Holders get a free carer seat for performances, if required, on presentation of the Access Card “+1” symbol.
