MoneySavingExpert.com lists the Access Card!
The Access Card is a proof of access requirement scheme which is widely recognised at venues across the UK and is a popular choice for disabled people who prefer not to keep joining scores of different registration schemes
The Derby-based social enterprise was both surprised and of course proud to be featured on MoneySavingExpert.com.
Ellie, one of the team processing the applications said;
“I noticed that all of a sudden a lot of customers were saying that they’d heard about us on the Martin Lewis website. We’re already really busy processing applications for customers going to see Strictly Come Dancing in Birmingham. Then all of a sudden we just got busier and busier!
“I checked the website out and saw that they’d included us in an article called 13 MoneySaving tips for disabled people. The applications started coming in thick and fast!”

The scheme, already with a membership of 20,000+ cardholders throughout the UK and abroad, helps disabled people communicate what access requirements they have and is a trusted proof of disability scheme with venues from Glastonbury Festival to the O2 arena and local places like Derby County, QUAD and many more.
The Money Supermarket piece quoted one Access Card Holder saying:
“I’m deaf, and one of the biggest barriers I face is around proof, e.g. when trying to buy access tickets at venues. I don’t claim benefits, I don’t have a ‘deaf’ certificate. But now I just show my card to the access team and there are no arguments or difficulties. I get the access tickets and rate, and a carer ticket.”
Martin Austin, Managing Director of Nimbus Disability and creator of the Access Card, said:
“We’re really pleased to have been noticed by The Money Saving Expert website. It’s great to have our work acknowledged and we’ve been really busy welcoming new members to the scheme as a result!”
