What is an Access Card?
The Access Card is an internationally recognised proof of access requirements card, which can be used to discreetly communicate a person’s access requirements, without the need to go into private or sensitive conversations about their condition. The card breaks down each person’s access requirements into individual symbols. These symbols indicate to providers the different access requirements that each of their customers may have. The scheme also helps businesses to understand how they can accommodate for these requirements, where possible.
Created and developed by Derby-based organisation, Nimbus Disability Consultancy, The Access Card has over thirty-thousand users and is recognised at over one-thousand venues and attractions nationwide.
