Flo Skatepark demonstrates CredAbility for disabled customers!
Flo Skatepark has been recognised by Nimbus Disability for providing accessible facilities for disabled people.
The Nottingham-based skatepark has been awarded the CredAble Provider Quality Mark after having its approach to working with disabled customers, which includes a warm welcome and an accessible toilet, assessed by Nimbus Disability.
Described as “a skatepark in Nottingham who are working to use our unique skatepark and creative arts space to establish a community where physical activity and creative expression can enrich lives.”, Flo Skatepark has been awarded the CredAble Provider Quality Mark to demonstrate that it is a service committed to quality for disabled customers. The awarded venues will each display the Kite Mark to raise awareness of the facilities on offer to disabled visitors.

Andy Wright, a member of the Board of Trustees Flo Charitable Trust, said:
“Everyone at Flo is incredibly excited about our CredAble Provider Award. Skateparks and the sports and activities they host are often dismissed by disabled people as not being for them. We want to change that perception at Flo.
“We are looking forward to using this award as a platform to get creative and discover new and exciting ways we can use our skatepark to encourage disabled people to get active. Working with Nimbus on the CredAble assessment has been great and their help and support as we develop our offer to disabled people is really valued.”
Martin Austin, Managing Director at Nimbus Disability, said:
“For many disabled visitors there is good physical access but more importantly there is a warm and friendly welcome and it feels like a forward-thinking and inclusive environment. For those wanting to get their chairs out on the park the offer is there – but make sure your chair is up to the task before taking on a half pipe!”
