Martin Austin awarded MBE in prestigious ceremony
The Access Card Team was very proud to see our Managing Director, Martin Austin, honoured with an MBE last month for his services to Accessibility in the Tourism & Entertainment Sectors.
Long overdue, the ceremony, originally scheduled for April 2020, just as the world went into lockdown, signified the outstanding contribution that Martin has made to the lives of disabled people, and the support given to the industries mentioned. This was delivered through his work with Nimbus Disability, the organisation he founded in 2006 which later went on to create the now internationally recognised Access Card Scheme.

The story is the basis on which the park and everything in it has been built. Nothing escapes the Hobblers’ quirky touch, from tables and benches to the houses the farm animals actually live in. In amongst it all are the most unusual and exciting play areas you are likely to have seen.”

“The first written records of the estate date back to 749 when an Anglo-Saxon King granted the estate to the Bishops of Winchester.
