March sees Access Card continue to bloom

As we begin to look forward to the end of the lockdown, the Access Card Team has been working hard to prepare for more accessible adventures

It’s safe to say that the news of slowly easing lockdown restrictions has brought music to many of our ears. Whether it’s visiting loved ones or accessing sports facilities, there is something everyone is looking forward to doing again.

With many venues & attractions set to open very soon, the Access Card Team has been working hard to recruit new Access Card providers, preparing us for even more barrier-free adventures.

Alton Towers Reopens

We are so excited to hear that Alton Towers will be reopening its gates for a season full of entertainment, thrills & joy in April* this year. The news has already brought music to many people’s ears, as it’s a chance for us all to simply go out and have fun! Find out more here.

Mother’s Day Gift Certificate

The Access Card Team was delighted to welcome Oakwood Theme Park to its growing list of Access Card Providers.

Oakwood Theme Park Wales’ Biggest Family Adventure! Whether it’s an adrenaline-fueled experience or a magical adventure, Oakwood Theme Park has thrills for all.

Access Cards with ‘+1’ symbol accepted as proof for a free companion ticket. Access Cards with ‘Standing and Queuing’ symbol accepted as proof for a Ride Access Pass. Find out more here.

As the UK continues to work together to lift lockdown restrictions by June, festival-favourites have already been organised for a summer to remember.

Access Card Holders can use their Access Cards to book accessible tickets through Ticketmaster & other official Access Card Providers.

3rd March 2021 was World Hearing Day; a day in which people came together to raise awareness around different hearing impairments.

University Mental Health Day 2021

4th March 2021 was University Mental Health Day; a day where people came together to raise awareness about Mental Health & to encourage others to talk.

Sign Language Week 2021

15th – 21st March 2021 was Sign Language Week; a week in which people came together to raise awareness around the issues faced by sign language- users, as well as the general wellbeing of the Deaf Community.

World Down’s Syndrome Day 2021

26th March 2021 was Purple Day; a day in which people were encouraged to raise more awareness about epilepsy and share information & support to not only help organisations and people already living with the condition, but to also help families & people who have only recently been diagnosed with epilepsy.

World Autism Awareness Week 2021

30th March – 5th April 2021 was World Autism Awareness Week; a week in which people came together to raise awareness about the condition and to also raise money for different charities that provide support for people with Autism.
