Martin Austin shortlisted for TheTicketingBusiness Award 2021

The grand ceremony will take place next month and will serve to recognise and celebrate the extraordinary achievements of all nominated businesses and individuals.

Martin Austin MBE has been shortlisted for the Executive Of The Year Award in TheTicketingBusiness Awards 2021.

Since 2016, TheTicketingBusiness Awards have recognised leadership, innovation & achievement in the application of ticketing across sports, performing arts, music, cinema, live entertainment and visitor attractions.

Ian Nuttall, Founder, TheStadiumBusiness said:

“We had a break for 2020 – it wasn’t a year to be celebrating ticketing. But we’re back for 2021 with our fifth edition and there is much to recognise, spotlight and perhaps even celebrate as our industry begins its recovery.

“As our industry restarts and recovers post-pandemic, it’s vital that we look for inspiration and ideas from our colleagues around the world. After the lockdowns and closures from the pandemic, entertainment businesses are now re-imagining and re-invigorating their guest experience – embracing technology, service and creativity to deliver ever more magical moments.

“The world’s ticketing ecosystem is the gateway to the memory factories of humanity – the gigs, the attractions, the matches and the shows. Our finalists this year represent a new set of values  of resilience and co-operation in many cases – that showed that whilst our sector is hugely competitive, it is also made up of people who know each other, have worked with each other and – during the pandemic – did look out for each other. We’ve all also realised that we cannot simply take fans and customers for granted. Instead, we are seeing the sector’s best players continue to re-invent their offer and enhance the ticket buying experience, connect more deeply with their communities and tackle their sustainability obligations.”

“For 2021 we have an amazing shortlist of finalists across the categories. Our expert Judging Panel will have its work cut out determining a single winner in each category ahead of our Winners’ Party in Manchester on 2 December. Meanwhile, my personal congratulations to all TheTicketingBusiness Awards 2021 finalists for making the cut – they are all winners and champions for our industry, through the most challenging of times.”

On being shortlisted, Martin Austin MBE said:

“I’m really taken aback at this shortlisting. Obviously our work comes from our expertise in working with disabled people so to be recognised for an industry-specific award amongst these amazing professionals is incredibly  humbling.”
