Nimbus Disability thrilled to attend Social Enterprise UK Awards 2021

The glamorous awards ceremony took place at the iconic Guild Hall on Wednesday night

It was a very exciting night for Nimbus Disability on Wednesday. Half of the team got suited and booted for the Social Enterprise UK Awards, which took place in London at the iconic Guildhall, as Nimbus Disability, alongside many other great social enterprises, had been nominated in the ‘Tech for Good’ category for their work with the Access Card.

The UK Social Enterprise Awards run by Social Enterprise UK, the national membership body for social enterprises, recognise the nation’s most pioneering social enterprises.

The nomination served to recognise the significant achievements of the Access Card scheme in making events & venues, including the ticket booking process, more accessible to disabled people.

Nimbus was thrilled to have been seated amongst so many extraordinary social enterprises all working in different sectors but all working with the same motive: to help and support people in many different ways.

The ‘Tech for Good’ Award was won by Beam: “ The world’s 1st crowdfunding platform for homeless people”.

Nimbus was very proud to have attended the awards ceremony and to have been nominated for the award.

On being nominated, Martin Austin MBE, Managing Director of Nimbus Disability & Creator of The Access Card, said:

“The team was tremendously proud to have been nominated for this award alongside all the other great nominees.

“As we all know, the last eighteen-months have been a great challenge for us all and so this award ceremony did not only celebrate the great achievements that all nominated businesses and individuals have made during that time, but it also celebrated the community of like-minded individuals and organisations who have continued to improve the accessibility of their services to help and support thousands of people across the UK.”
