Scope, one of the UK’s leading disability charities has new job roles available for disabled people with flexibility in location.

Scope exists to make this country a place where disabled people have the same opportunities as everyone else, the charity have recently launched Everyday equality, a five-year strategy, which sets out how they will work to drive social change so that disabled people have the same opportunities as everyone else, their dedicated team are specially trained in disability equality and are currently looking for more disabled people to join in two exciting new job roles.

Paid community intern position:

Are you passionate about supporting others and creating positive change? Are you looking to develop a career in digital marketing and community management? Scope’s online community is a supportive forum where people connected by disability can share experiences and advice.

We’re looking for an intern to join our team and help us grow the community’s reach and impact.

About the role:

  • Your time will be split between providing day to day community management and working on content and marketing projects for the community.
  • The role is for four days a week for three months. Timings and length can be flexible to fit in with other commitments such as training and job seeking.
  • You can work in our office in London, remotely (if you have a good internet connection) or a combination of the two.

Cerebral Palsy Information Officer:

You will have lived experience of Cerebral Palsy along with an in-depth knowledge of its causes, health implications, therapies and available support. You will have at least two years’ experience working in a customer focused environment, preferably as a practitioner providing information, advice and support to children and adults with Cerebral Palsy.

You will need a demonstrable understanding of the social model of disability and the broader issues that affect disabled people.

About the role:

  • You will have lived experience of Cerebral Palsy along with an in-depth knowledge of its causes, health implications, therapies and available support.
  • You will have at least two years’ experience working in a customer focused environment, preferably as a practitioner providing information, advice and support to children and adults with Cerebral Palsy.
  • You will need a demonstrable understanding of the social model of disability and the broader issues that affect disabled people.

You will work with colleagues across Scope, so communication and listening skills are vital. You will need to be organised and work well in a busy service environment. Using your enthusiasm and initiative, you will support people to find the information and solutions they need.

The successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check for regulated activity.
