There have been many changes over the last twenty-eight years to services for disabled people. For example, Disability Direct now has over forty thousand service users across the 9 services it provides.

The Access Card is just one of several organisations that directly contribute towards the services that Disability Direct provides for disabled people. Other organisations include Welfare Rights, Blue Sky Brokers, The PA Register, DD Payroll Services, Enabled Centre and Hate Crime.

“15% of the world’s population are disabled people. The same can be said about the population of Derby. Disability Direct has and continues to have staff, services and projects which address the inequalities in all aspects of modern day society. The forthcoming Paralympics will show examples of resilience and a general ‘can-do’ attitude which is also in the DNA of our organisation. We can all share a level of pride that here in Derby, thanks to Disability Direct, #WeThe15 are doing whatever is necessary to buffer traditional and future environmental and social injustices.”
