South West Athletics Academy
Overview
We offer athletics coaching and a range of activities are available for disabled individuals and groups. We have experience of working at many events and have worked with children and adults to have a go at developing skills and co-ordination, through to performance athletes working towards Paralympic events. We have a number of groups at Exeter on Monday nights between 7–8pm at Exeter Arena and a Wednesday from 5-6pm, Our inclusive groups are an open session with any age and any ability athlete welcome (no previous experience is necessary). All of our activities are fully inclusive – anyone of any ability. You can just turn up and pay on the door. We also run specific disability days and events - just contact us if you are interested.

Access guidance
- Exeter Arena is fully accessible and has plenty of disabled parking bays. We also visit centres and venues so adapt to each venue as required.
- We have full wheelchair access at Exeter Arena (you just can't go up into the stand area but there is plenty of viewing all round the track.)
- We have disabled toilets and they are easy to access at any time during sessions.
- We are fine with assistance dogs and there is plenty of grass areas and dog bowls and bed area can be provided at all sessions we run if required.
- Yes all enablers / carers access the events activities for free.
- Our website is adapted and has 'real accessibility' built into it for text size and we can supply large front if requested
- We have a few hearing impaired athlete and we have a way to use visual signs for activities and usually enablers come with them as well.
