Overview

Tissington House is a 14 bedded unit which is based in the grounds of Kingsway Site. It offers facilities for males and females. Following the governments requirement that patients of the opposite sex should not share sleeping, toileting or washing facilities the unit has separate bedrooms with en-suite facilities. The unit offers a countywide assessment service for people over the age of 65 and under 65 for people who may be suffering from any of the various types of dementia. Our aim is to deliver care that meets the assessed needs to the individual respecting their diversity, recognising of individual strengths and reflecting the Trust statement of intent and values of dignity and respect. This philosophy of care is demonstrated in the positive, creative and innovative approach to the individualised care that we as a team practice, encouraging a sense of personhood and independence promoting a smooth transition back into the community.
